#Getnzwriting
Over the past few weeks we have been completing activities for a fun and different type of writing. We took part in the Warehouse Stationery School Kit. This years theme was #getNZwriting.
Our aim was to be one of many poem writers.
After weeks of hard work, and full days completing each and every task we finally completed the school kit!
The children put in a huge amount of effort to finish their individual tasks.

Rainbow Poems
#getnzwriting
To get the juices flowing we created a rainbow poem describing each colour. We wrote on strips of paper then edited and arranged them to make sense!
Class Poem
#getnzwriting
As a class we worked together to answer questions about us and our region to put on a huge poster.
Children worked in groups to answer different sections
This is what we came up with!

Postcards
#getnzWriting
We had to construct and refine our own object inspired 12 word poem with an anagram title.
Sticky Words
The main aim of the task was to create a word bank full of 40 sticky words that described a particular object from a cool tin we received. We had 13 different items to share amongst the class and tasks to tick off as we completed them.
We thought of descriptive words
Found synonyms
Researched our item
Wrote sentences about our items
Closed our eyes and described what we felt
This is what helped create our word bank of STICKY WORDS.

THE FINAL PRODUCT was then written on post cards which we then coloured and sent them away to our buddy class up in the north island.
We were very happy to have COMPLETED each task to send away!!
In return our buddy class from up north would send us their amazing work!
#getNZwriting was a whole lot of fun!

Daily Five
In Room 4 for our reading rotations we have many options to show what great self managers we are.
This is called Daily 5. Many of the activities involved allow us to use our chrome books and take our learning into our own hands.
Each week the children fill out a chart as to what they complete each day.
They are to be specific to what they have done and get a buddy to sign it.
Please see below what is involved with Daily 5.

Remember a story with questions to answer is better than just reading a story as this encourages you to think about what you have read.
Sometimes Miss Strange will set you a text to read before coming to work with her and this will be part of Reading to Self.
